Jonathan Banks

Jonathan Banks is Vice President of Vehicle Analysis and Analytics within the Valuation Services division of J.D. Power. Under Mr. Banks’ leadership, his market intelligence and analytical teams deliver accurate and timely used car and truck valuations for the automotive industry, financial institutions, businesses, and consumers. Additionally, Mr. Banks analyzes market data at both the auction and retail level of the used vehicle market and serves as the division’s primary media spokesperson on issues affecting the automotive industry and its consumers. 

With 20 years of experience in the automotive industry, Mr. Banks is a well-respected expert, speaking at many of the major automotive conferences and conventions across the country. He is also a trusted source for the media and has been quoted in various publications, including The Wall Street Journal and USA Today, and has been a TV guest on Fox News and MSNBC.

Prior to J.D. Power, Mr. Banks worked as a senior director and manager at ALG for 13 years. At ALG, he helped establish a series of successful initiatives to improve and streamline the use of used vehicle market and pricing data to improve its forecasting model.

Mr. Banks received his undergraduate degree from UC Santa Barbara and his MBA from Pepperdine University.


Laurence Dixon

Director of Market Intelligence

With two decades of experience in the automotive industry, Laurence Dixon is a well-respected expert on vehicle valuations. He leads a team which delivers data-driven insights on the used vehicle market for the automotive industry, financial institutions, businesses and consumers. 

Mr. Dixon is well-versed in the analysis of wholesale and retail transaction price data, as well as the market fundamentals that dictate used vehicle price performance. Daily, he analyzes data to not only determine what is happening in the automotive industry, but more importantly, why it’s happening. He has presented at numerous conferences on used vehicle pricing and his findings have been quoted in numerous publications, including The Wall Street Journal, Los Angeles Times, Car & Driver Magazine and Automotive News. 

Dixon joined NADA Used Car Guide in 1997 as an analyst, and rose to the role of director following the 2015 acquisition of NADA Used Car Guide by J.D. Power. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in history from Frostburg State University. On the weekend, you will likely find Dixon spending time with his two children or renovating something around his home.


Ryan Morris

Ryan Morris leads the J.D. Power Valuation Service's media and content efforts. In addition to implementing strategies that generate positive news coverage about the organization’s products and services, he manages the editorial vehicle review process of the NADA Used Car & Truck Blog.

A career new media content professional, Morris has developed and advised content and outreach strategies for numerous organizations, including Walmart, AOL, Pfizer and Blue Shield of California. His written work and video appearances covering automotive issues and products can be found via various media outlets, including AARP and The Fast Lane Car.

Before joining J.D. Power, Morris worked as Director, Social Strategy and Content Programming for LiveWorld, a social media consulting firm. At LiveWorld, he developed new products to increase company revenue and advised Fortune 500 clients on new content strategies. Morris received his Bachelor of Science from the University of Florida, where he rode on the 6-time South Eastern Conference champion road bicycling squad, Team Florida. Outside of the office, Morris is Director of Communications for the Washington Automotive Press Association. As a board member of the nation's leading regional automotive press association, he is responsible for leading external communications as well as representing WAPA at various automotive industry events and serving as a spokesperson to the media.



David Paris

Sr. Automotive Analyst
J.D. Power Valuation Services

David Paris, is responsible for the creation of the J.D. Power Valuation Service's monthly Guidelines report and insights used in special studies. His work highlights the organization's data and analytical capabilities which benefit the automotive industry, financial institutions, businesses and consumers. With a decade of service on teh Valuations Services team, Paris is skilled in vehicle valuation forecasting as well as the analysis of wholesale and retail transaction price data and economic market fundamentals that affect used vehicle price performance.

Paris received his Bachelor of Science degree from George Mason University in 2007. When not obsessing about the automotive industry at work, he enjoys restoring older cars and even dabbles in a bit of competitive racing.


Dave Wagner

Director of Analytics
J.D. Power Valuation Services

David Wagner, Director of Analytics, leads the Analytics team at J.D. Power Valuation Services. With more than ten years of automotive analysis experience, Dave’s focus involves forecasting and consulting on vehicle valuation for the uatomotive industry.

David holds a Master’s degree in Economics from the University of California, Santa Barbara. When he isn’t in the office, he enjoys restoring his small farm with his family in rural Virginia.


Danushka Nanayakkara

Senior Economic Analyst 
J.D. Power Valuation Services

Danushka, a Senior Economic Analyst for J.D. Power Valuation Services, supports the Analytics team by providing statistical modeling for projects such as Residual Values and New and Used price relationship. She also manages external non-financial sector consulting projects and provides economic research on various macro and micro variables for the Analytics department.  Prior to J.D. Power, Danushka worked as a Research Analyst for the Costar Group.

Danushka received her Master of Arts degree in Applied Economics from Johns Hopkins University and her Undergraduate degree in Economics and Business Administration from Otterbein University in Ohio. Outside of work, Danushka enjoys traveling, being active outdoors and spending time with her large family!
