All-wheel drive has become a critical component to many performance cars. Putting 603 horsepower to the pavement, without creating a smoke show requires it. However, powering all four wheels can take some of the fun out of driving the car at the limit.

The solution? Drift mode.

According to Autoblog, the new 2018 Mercedes-Benz E63S AMG has it. Harnessing the most powerful version of the German brand’s 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8, the E63’s 4Matic system allows for a 0-60 mph sprint in just 3.3 seconds. For those drivers looking to get a bit more out of the car and channel their inner Ken Block, the luxury sport sedan offers a drift mode. With traction control settings in “race” mode, the active torque vectoring system will send 100% of the power to the rear wheels, allowing drivers to obliterate the tires in sideways fashion.

Look for the E63 and E63S to debut next month at the LA Auto Show, with pricing and release dates to follow.
