Dodge dealers are finding themselves in hot water, as the much-anticipated Dodge Challenger SRT Demon gets ready to hit showrooms. Touted as one of the fastest production cars ever made – the Demon – boasts 840 tire-roasting horsepower and looks to dominate the drag-strip.

The hype, according to Jalopnik, already has dealers taking deposits for vehicles before the ordering process has opened. The same issue arose when Dodge released the Demon’s predecessor, the Hellcat and many orders went unfulfilled. With only 3,000 cars being produced, many dealers may have already promised too many. FCA boss, Tim Kunuskis, has publicly stated that dealers should not take deposits without an official ordering guide, which will arrive sometime next month. Those who aren’t able to secure one of the red-hot muscle cars will be entitled to a refund.
