Lucid Motors Inc. is ready to begin production of the Tesla-fighting Air. After showing the car's capabilities earlier this month with a top speed run, the all-electric carmaker is moving forward with its 2019 debut. According to Bloomberg, the company is also ready to sell and Ford is its top suitor.

Lucid is exploring all options as they begin to finance a production plant and have not ruled out a potential sale. Ford is not looking to deal at the current time, but plans to invest nearly $4.5 billion to electrify 40 percent of its fleet by 2020.  The Blue Oval currently involved in a 100-day review of its plans and priorities with new CEO Jim Hackett. The maker has promised autonomous vehicles on the road by 2021.
