People are Spending More Money on Cars

According to Automotive News, buyers are spending about 2% more on cars than they did last year.  This is mostly due to low interest rates and longer term loans. As an example, a 72-month, no-interest loan gives buyers who want to keep their payment at $500 a month the ability to spend $6,000 more than with a 60-month loan. Furthermore, it allows for spending $4,800 more for those who think they can afford $400 a month.
