Big News Out of Mazda

Motor Trend is reporting some big news from Mazda.  Plans for a Mazda6 coupe (rendering below) and a MazdaSpeed3, which will use a 2.5-liter Skyactiv turbocharged engine putting out 300 hp and incorporate a new all-wheel drive system.

BMW X5M and X6M

According to BMW, the 2015 BMW X5 M and X6 M will start at an MSRP of $99,650 and $103,050 respectively. Both will arrive in showrooms in the spring of 2015. In addition, the 0 to 60 time is 4.0 seconds for both models.


Another One Bites the Dust       

Autoblog has reported that the New York Times is shutting down its automotive section after being part of the paper for 20 years. This is the result of shrinking advertising revenues, lower subscription levels and competition from free online news sites.

Fiat to Spin off Ferrari

USA Today has reported that Fiat will spin off Ferrari into its own company in an effort to raise capital.  There will be an initial public offering of 10% of Ferrari stock next year. 


Mercedes Benz CLA Shooting Brake

Autoblog has obtained spy shots and renderings of the upcoming CLA Wagon/Shooting Brake and they look pretty stylish.

Jalopnik has the spy photos from KGP Photography of the new 2016 ATS-V.  Looks fast and mean;watch out BMW.

Aluminum Wrangler

According to Automotive News, the next iteration of the Jeep Wrangler will be built with an all-aluminum body.  This will save a massive amount of weight.  Also Chrysler hinted at the fact that the Jeep might also get a slightly angled grill and windscreen to greatly reduce drag.


STI Forester

According to World Car Fans, Subaru may be giving the Forester the STI treatment.  Whether or not this car will make it to production remains to be seen. It will however, make its debut on November 25.
