Members of NADA Used Car Guide’s valuation staff are eagerly gearing up to attend the annual Los Angeles Auto Show, which kicks off next week at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Press preview days begin on Tuesday, November 18 and will run through Thursday, November 20. After the press preview days are over, the show will then transition to public days which run through November 30.

Lots of exciting new product introductions are scheduled, which should make for a great event. Looking at the press conference schedule, four performance oriented models stand out because of the importance to their respective brands.

Cadillac ATS-V Coupe- The all-new ATS-V is exactly what struggling Cadillac brand needs to spice up its current model lineup. Vsport versions of the CTS and XTS are essentially just sport packages, but the ATS-V is a real deal no-holds-barred V model, the first one introduced since the previous generation CTS-V. The new ATS-V Coupe should follow in the footsteps of the old CTS-V, only in a slightly smaller package. Rumored to be powered by a twin-turbo V6 engine, the ATS-V should be a street legal rocket and have the ability to deliver better fuel economy that the previous generation CTS-V’s supercharged V8. Recent spy shots show the coupe wearing aggressive bodywork including lip spoiler on the trunk to keep the rear end planted, along with big wheels, low-profile tires and oversized brakes. The ATS-V is Cadillac’s answer to the BMW M4, and we’re looking forward to hearing all the details next week at the show.

Jaguar F-Type- Alright, so the F-Type is not new, but exactly one year after showing off its new sleek body style at last year’s Los Angeles Auto Show, Jaguar is upping the ante and will show off a new all-wheel drive version of the popular coupe. Jaguar describes the all-wheel drive version of the F-Type as a sure-footed cat, and in AWD F-Type R form it is expected to sprint from 0-60 miles per hour in around 3.9 seconds, and top out around 186 miles per hour. By adding AWD to the mix, Jaguar has created a perfect performance vehicle for all weather conditions. We’re thrilled to learn more about the new AWD system and its capabilities.

BMW X5 M and X6 M- BMW’s M division is up to it again, this time they’ve thrown an exorbitant amount of power at the new X5 M and X6 M which should make them some of the fastest sport utilities on the road today. The same 4.4-liter V8 that’s found in the M5 and M6, putting out 567 HP and 553 pound-feet of torque has been stuffed into the X5 M and X6 M. Power is delivered to the pavement through all four wheels distributed by an eight-speed M Steptronic automatic transmission, which has the ability to shift 100 percent of the power between the front and rear axles through a multi-plate clutch with torque vectoring. In layman’s terms this means that the new M utilities will be fast, very fast, and able to sprint from 0-60 miles per hour in 4 seconds flat and top out at an electronically limited 155 miles per hour. Both versions are expected to start right around $100,000.
