This year’s North American International Auto Show in Detroit was full of excitement, particularly for fast car aficionados and utilitarian enthusiasts. In the truck segment, the Ford F-150 SVT Raptor, Toyota Tacoma, Nissan Titan and Ram Rebel all made impressive showings. Not to be left out, several new crossover models were unveiled, including the Volkswagen GTE Cross Coupe, Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe and Lincoln MKX.

The greatest buzz at Cobo Hall involved rockets disguised as automobiles. Highlighted by the much anticipated Acura NSX and the surprising reveal of the Ford GT, the Ford Mustang GT350R, Lexus GS F, Cadillac CTS-V and Porsche 911 Targa 4 GTS all shared in the speed theme. Ironically, the car with the fastest-sounding name― the Chevrolet Bolt electric vehicle―received the most amount of apathy from the press corps.
