The Mercedes-Benz M-Class takes a bow this year, as it is being replaced and refreshed with new style and nomenclature. Having been in service since 1998 the M-Class will be given new life as the 2016 GLE. This change beckons to Mercedes full overhaul of its naming strategy, aimed at making sense of new models and powertrains. The GLE sports a revised front end that includes the signature headlights making their way across the Mercedes lineup and a rear end featuring LED taillights. Motor Authority reports that powertrains will remain similar to the previous M-Class with gas and diesel variants. A plug in hybrid has also been confirmed. The GLE looks to build on the success that the M-Class obtained as it became one of Mercedes-Benz best-selling models.
