Over the last few years, exotic automakers have been looking for a way to stand out and showcase their technological superiority over their competitors. The drive to be the best, coupled with a growing billionaires market has produced a new breed of supercars. According to Automotive News nearly every exotic automaker has attempted to build a seven figure car in the past decade. Demand is fueled by an explosion of wealth across the world, with approximately 36 new billionaires since the start of 2015 who desire their vehicles to be unique. Examples of these supercars include the Bugatti Veyron, McLaren P1, Ferrari LaFerarri and the Koenigsegg Agera. The industry stands to benefit from these halo cars since the competition fuels innovation, which then trickles down to cars everyday consumers can afford.
