A few months ago Ford rocked the Detroit auto show with an announcement that its halo car, the GT, would be returning. The GT utilizes carbon fiber throughout the vehicle and Ford is looking to expand this durable lightweight material across its lineup.  According to Motor Authority, Ford reached a partnership last week with carbon fiber producer DowAksa. With tightening emission requirements, carbon fiber helps reduce weight and improve overall efficiency. This partnership will incorporate Ford’s manufacturing and engineering process with DowAksa’s carbon production and conversion capabilities. The innovation and technology from this high-dollar, low-production halo car is on its way to benefiting both consumers and enthusiasts alike.
