Last week, Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) announced they have pothole detection technology in the works. This week, the claims of future technology continue. As the headline of this post states, JLR recently shared with the world a very James Bond-ish feature they've been developing: off-roading without being in the vehicle. According to the official press release:

  • Jaguar Land Rover researchers developing new sensing technologies that will work in all weathers and in all environments – so any future autonomous car can go anywhere
  • Autonomous driving prototypes revealed include the ‘Multi-Point Turn’ Range Rover, which will perform an autonomous 180-degree turn in the road
  • Jaguar Land Rover’s vision is to create driver-focussed autonomous technologies to enhance the driving experience

Will this skunkworks technology become a reality for JLR dealers to sell? Sound off your thoughts in the Comments section.
