Consumers ― who placed an order for a 2015 Dodge Challenger or Charger Hellcat and have not yet received it ― will have to wait another model year. According to Fiat Chrysler Automobile’s latest announcement on the 707 horsepower ride, Dodge has canceled the remaining 2015 Hellcat orders to begin production on 2016 models. Around 900 requests for 2015 models are still outstanding as production wraps up, with a small amount seeing actual production.

High demand and huge market adjustments pushed Dodge to revamp pricing and ordering protocol of 2015 model year Hellcats to keep customers happy and dealers from ordering outside their means. Production for the 2016 model is expected to double and customers with outstanding orders from 2015 will receive a voucher to reorder a new model at last year’s pricing. Dealers will be allocated Hellcat models based on the number of sales during a given period and will be told total allocation with penalties for ordering beyond it. Orders for 2016 models will open the week of August 10.
