Porsche’s Macan, a compact utility vehicle (CUV), is quickly becoming a hot luxury market commodity. It’s a fantastic mixture of sporty and practical, at a lower price point than its bigger sibling, Cayenne. In an effort to continue strong sales and attract new buyers, Porsche announced the new Macan GTS yesterday.

Bridging the gap between the S and Turbo, Porsche’s GTS offers many of the options that attract buyers to both models. The five seat CUV features a 360 horsepower engine mated to a proprietary seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK). The added power allows the GTS to make the sprint from 0 to 60 miles per hour in 4.8 seconds when paired with the Sport Chrono package. On the outside, a unique front fascia, air suspension, and high gloss black trim come standard. On the inside, leather sport seating with Alcantara inserts and an eight speaker audio system — which includes Bluetooth capability, satellite radio and HD radio — is standard.

The 2017 Porsche Macan GTS will start at $67,200 (plus destination fee) when it goes on sale in March of 2016.
