The fallout from Volkswagen’s diesel emissions scandal is still in full force. The Volkswagen Group has begun a massive cost-cutting program that has already had some effects.  According to Motor Authority, the Phaeton, which was already delayed once, has seen another setback and will most likely arrive in 2020. It has been confirmed that the new Phaeton, when it arrives, will be electric only. The Phaeton will also source many of its parts from the Audi Q6 e-tron in an effort to cut costs. Production is expected to move from its current location with rumors that VW may be closing its plant in Dresdan, Germany where the Phaeton is being produced. Building electric vehicles seems to be a big focus as Volkswagen attempts to shed the poor image this scandal has created.
