Two years after exiting the pickup truck market, Honda is back. On the first day of the currently running North American International Auto Show held in Detroit, the 2017 Honda Ridgeline was revealed with a bold new design. Marketed as the “Ultimate Tailgate” vehicle, the Ridgeline offers an industry exclusive in-bed trunk along with and industry first in-bed audio system. According to Honda, the chassis design allows for excellent handling, ride quality and cabin quietness while still offering best-in-class collision safety ratings. Borrowing design queues from the rest of Honda’s lineup, the Ridgeline has gained space both inside and out. Power comes from a 3.5-liter, direct injected V6 paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive options will be available upon release.
