Originally established in 2003, Toyota’s Scion was a fun, edgy brand created to tap into the youngest demographic of consumers.   About 70 percent of Scion buyers were new to the brand. With a combined average age of 36 Scion market wizards succeeded at making the marque the youngest brand in the auto industry. After a 13 year run, parent company Toyota has decided it will be closing the proverbial doors on the brand. The transition will begin in August of 2016 with 2017 Models of the FR-S, iA and iM being rebranded with Toyota badges. The tC will end production in August with a special final release series edition. Vehicle maintenance will be unaffected and customers can continue to bring their vehicles to local Toyota dealerships.
