The Audi S3 injected some of the iconic sports car prowess into the brand’s entry-level sedan. Despite making 292 horsepower, the S3 falls just short of its main rival from Mercedes-Benz, the CLA45 AMG. According to Autoblog, the folks at Audi are ready to bring the RS3 stateside in order to level the playing field.

Currently available in the European market, the RS3 is expected to transition from its Euro-only sportback design to a more U.S.-friendly sedan body.  Audi’s Quattro system will help put all 400-plus horsepower to the pavement, while the brand’s seven-speed S-Tronic dual-clutch gear box will handle transmission shifts. Initial reports indicate the RS3 will be available as a 2018 model sometime in 2017. The wicked fast four door is expected to start between $55,000 and $60,000.
