Twenty years ago, the last Ford Bronco made its way off the assembly line. Since that time, Ford has offered no replacements other than a teaser concept in 2004. That may soon change.

According to Jalopnik, Ford is gearing up for a sport utility vehicle blitz. A new Bronco may be part of the Blue Oval lineup. While the Bronco photos that have surfaced are merely fan art, they do incorporate a good bit of the 2004’s design mixed in with some of the classics. The design is off-road and utility-driven, and would line up well with the Jeep Wrangler, which currently lacks competition. While the Bronco hasn’t been officially announced as part of Ford’s 2016 plans, this fan concept proves there is a strong market for niche vehicles like this one.

Perhaps Ford will surprise brand enthusiasts at either this year’s New York or Los Angeles auto shows? We’ll just have to wait and see.
