This mid-size leaping cat was in need of a refresh, and Jaguar hit it out of the park. Here's what we thought:

MSRP: $62,700 (Plus $995 destination fee.)

Hits
  • This is what the 5-Series used to be; BMW should be very nervous
  • Even with an electric-assist steering setup, you get just enough feedback from the road for a sporty experience
  • Steering is direct and only bested by the electric-assist package found in Porsche's 911 (991 model generation)
  • The 380 horsepower supercharged V6 engine provides 5 second 0-60 mph times
  • Much needed visual upgrade to the infotainment system is appreciated, but it's still not one of our favorites

Misses
  • We wish there was an option for throatier exhaust (no butterfly valve button like in the Jaguar F-Type)
  • To achieve true perfomance dominance, an even more powerful engine is needed (don't worry, a V8 SVR version will likely be in the cards from Jaguar)
  • Brake and throttle pedals are very close together in this automatic transmission sedan, which can cause unintended driving actions
