NADA e-Valuator Web Download Update Instructions
You can download both the initial program setup files and the monthly data updates from the NADA web site.
The initial step in signing up for
the NADA web download service is to register online after
becoming an e-Valuator software subscriber.
To register, point the browser to http://www.nada.com/b2b/evaldownload:
Click on the Not yet registered for downloads? link to go to the registration page.
Enter your Company ID and Company
Name. They must exactly match the data we have on file. Next you will
chose your Password and confirm it. Please enter your e-mail
address in case you forget your password then press Continue.
After registering, you will be
brought to the Download Service login page, which you may wish to
bookmark. The URL is http://www.nada.com/b2b/evaldownload/login.asp.
Here you will enter your Company ID and Password that you created
at the registration screen.
Next you will be taken to the
update page. Please do not bookmark the update page – there
is code included in the page that will force you to the login
page.
The update page will list
all the data updates for the application that you have
subscribed to (i.e. the software type), in descending
chronological order. So, the newest data update will always be
listed first.
Following the data update will
be a list of any program updates. This could be a complete
program update, such as when a new version is released, or it
could be minor fixes, like an updated report, etc.
Finally, a list of
‘miscellaneous’ updates will follow. This can include
manual updates, help files, new reports (not modified/fixed
reports), etc.
Select the file you wish to download
by clicking on the file name. If using Internet Explorer, you will
be asked whether you wish to run the program or save it. Please
save the program to your system.
Once the file is downloaded, run it
by double-clicking on its icon in the location where you stored
the file. A standard NADA setup program will run. Be sure to
select the correct location to install the new file(s). For more details, please see the following section.
Notes on program and data updates:
These setup programs will check to be sure a copy of the
application is already present in the location where the setup
file is told to install the files. If the setup program cannot
find the correct program file(s) in the location you tell it to install to, it will not
complete. Additionally, all users should be out of the e-Valuator program to ensure files are
not locked during the update process.
To run the data update:
Open Windows Explorer and browse to
the location where you saved the file you downloaded from the last
step. Double-click on the file to launch the update program.
Read the Welcome/License and Read Me screens, and click the Next> button when finished with each screen.
Depending on the update file, you may be prompted to choose which specific e-Valuator application you are
updating; please be sure to select the correct program and click the Next> button.
Enter the location where you installed the application at the Choose Destination Location screen,
then click the Next> button.
Click the Next button at the Start
Installation screen to proceed.
If you entered the wrong location,
you will see an error message and you will be given the chance to
change the folder to the correct location where the application is
installed.
When the data update is finished,
click Finish to exit.
