What is the NADA Dealership Workforce Study?
Conducted annually since 2012, the NADA Dealership Workforce Study is the only authoritative and comprehensive examination of auto dealership workforce trends. This study provides the latest industry data on employee compensation, benefits, turnover, retention, demographics, hiring trends, hours of operation and more. The data is published in annual reports for members only. The reporting shows national and regional data as well as non-luxury vs. luxury brands, and sales volume ranges from low, medium, and high-volume stores.

2023 NADA National & Regional Trends in Compensation, Benefits & Retention Report (2022 Calendar Year Data)
The National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA) has prepared the “ 2023 National & Regional Trends in Compensation, Benefits & Retention Report” to assist its dealer members in evaluating their human capital management policies and staying current on compensation and hiring trends.
With thanks to our 2023 Dealership Workforce Study participants, we collected and analyzed 2022 calendar year payroll data which provided us with salary, demographics and turnover data along with responses to a benefits questionnaire. The questionnaire allowed us to analyze health plan benefits offered, retirement plans, paid time off, hiring trends, Electric Vehicle certifications and more.
NADA Members who were not able to participate in the 2023 NADA Dealership Workforce Study may purchase the 2023 NADA National & Regional Trends in Compensation & Retention report. This is 2022 calendar year data.
